The Price of the "Hormuz Siege" and the Stock Market Game

Ships going through Strait

The sun rose today over the Strait of Hormuz not as a symbol of a new beginning, but as a spotlight on a global powder keg. For those of us here in Ohio—mothers, grandmothers, and advocates who have spent lifetimes fighting for the constitutional rights of our loved ones—the news from the Middle East isn't just a headline. It is a warning.

The Blockade: A New "Epstein War"?

We are watching a naval blockade unfold that feels dangerously familiar. The administration has labeled Iran’s transit fees "world extortion," using our Navy to intercept ships and block oil that has already been paid for by nations like China. They call it "Freedom of Navigation," but when the gates are locked and the warships are positioned, it looks less like freedom and more like a siege. We have to ask: At what cost? We have grandsons. We have adult children. We have a lineage that has survived Jim Crow, systemic barriers, and centuries of fighting just to exist with dignity. We cannot afford another "Epstein War"—a conflict built on backroom deals and elite interests where the "loss of life" is always borne by the families who have already given too much.

The Market Rigging: Tweets and Tolls

While the ships sit idle in the Strait, the markets in New York are moving. We see a pattern that we must call out: policy by social media. When the rhetoric turns to "extortion" and threats are issued via posts, the stock market reacts instantly. We see the "rigged" nature of it—the market dips, people panic, and those in the inner circle who know the next move buy in at the bottom. It is a cycle of wealth extraction that benefits the few while our families at home deal with the rising costs of energy and the looming shadow of a draft.

Standing Our Ground

We’ve spent years fighting against statutory immunity and for government accountability here in Ohio. We know what happens when those in power believe they are above the law. Whether it's a courtroom in Columbus or a carrier strike group in the Persian Gulf, the principle remains the same: Transparency is not optional. We cannot allow the lives of our loved ones to be used as leverage in a game of global chicken. We cannot allow the economy to be treated like a personal piggy bank for those who treat "extortion" as a business model while our people suffer the consequences. We must remain vigilant. We must keep our eyes on the Strait, but our hearts on our homes. Our legacy is one of survival and justice—and we won't let it be traded away for oil or a spike in the Dow Jones.

THE COUNTDOWN TO THE UNTHINKABLE.

WE ARE LESS THAN 16 HOURS AWAY. At 10:00 AM ET tomorrow, the blockade begins. After months of "Black Rain," sirens in Tehran, and the collapse of the Islamabad peace talks, we are now being told that an "entire civilization" is on the chopping block. Is this who we are now? The world is watching in horror as: Diplomacy is traded for "blockades" and apocalyptic threats. Retired generals are sounding the alarm on potential war crimes. The 25th Amendment is being discussed in the halls of power because the rhetoric has become completely unhinged. This isn't just a "regional conflict" anymore. This is a gamble with the lives of 90 million people and the stability of the entire planet. We cannot sit by while the "rules of war" are tossed into the trash.

DEMAND ACCOUNTABILITY NOW. The clock is ticking. Tomorrow morning, the world changes forever.
